Ok well a yesterday i was playing rugby and it got a little intense(ya that its we'll say intense, no one was going out to kill each other, no at all :confused:

well i get hurt and i cracked my sternum , and i was wonder how long should i not hit the gym , and what thing should i stop doing aka. bench or so on, thanks
 
It depends.

Have you had x-rays to know for sure the extent of the damage?

If it is indeed fractured, you will need at least 6 weeks to let it set up.

At best I would say no movements that cause "pressure" on the rib cage, that means all chest pressing, most rows, squats, deads etc. Probably nothing where oyu must lie on a bench.

You can do leg extensions. Leg curls ONLY on a standing or seated curl machine.

But like a say, it depends on how bad the fracture is. In any case, it takes about 6 weeks for bone and soft tissues such as ligaments/tendons to heal.
 
I see posts like this all the time on other boards and I have to ask this question: doesn't anyone just go to the doctor's office anymore?
