Hi,

I'm sometimes nagging I have to each so much for my weight, so I was wondering, is it really that bad? Do I, in comparison to others, really have to eat that much?

Me: 148 lbs
Maintenance cal: around 3200

How active are you? That could be where most of your calories are going.

I'm not sure of my true maintenance, but fitday claims it is 3471 calories, which is pretty close to what the formula in the Eating for Size gives me, after adjustment for my activity level. I'm currently 210 lbs.

Fitday gave me some number like 3050... and then I figured it more precisely using formulas based on my lean mass and how much exercise I do. It was 2950 earlier in the cycle when I was doing more cardio, but now it's dropped down to 2600. I'm 182 at 13% BF by the way.

Katch-mcArdle formula is the one i now use based on BF%.
Maintenance is at 2784 for 162 at 9.8%. I put your 182 in and get 2983 maintenance at 13%; like anything these are starting points.

zoomz,

I think that's the same formula I use (couldn't think of the name earlier) I see you used the multiplier of 1.55 to get 2983. As I said in another post, I use a multiplier of 1.2, and add exercise like lifting, cardio, and sports seperately. Does that sound like a good idea?
