Is it good to avoid glucosamine, calcium gluconate or anything else with the word glucose in it? I'm thinking about the effects of glucose on blood sugar levels.

You'll also be avoiding anything with sucrose or lactose in it, then.

Bottom line, unless you're a diabetic, stop worrying so much.

No glucosamine and gluconates do not effect blood sugar levels.

Just avoid carbohydrate "foods" such as sugars and starches.

I started taking glucosamine less then a week ago and I have noticed my shoulder instability became a lot worse, and doing crunches today my back was clicking wich has never happened before. I then found out that glucosamine can make joint problems worse, Im seeing a physio today.

I was going to argue with the person who wrote "avoid carbohyrate foods", then saw it was Bryan the founder of HST! heheh but seriously can I ask in what context do you mean avoiding carbs, only when dieting, or were you refering to someone who is diabetic?

I think Bryan ment just the bad carbs, sugars and starches, wich should be avoided if ur diabetic or on a diet.

Just got back from the physio and she said that glucosamine is unlikely to of made my condition worse.

Yeah Glucosamine supposed to help with cartlage, have you tried Omega 3 Fish Oil tablets as well? They supposed to help with lubricating joints. Did the physio give you any stability/strengthening exercises for your shoulder?

I have been taking fish oil on and off for nearly a year, great stuff.

Yea I got scapula exercises to do, surprisingly I'm not ready yet to do rotator cuff excercises, Im currently wearing tape to pull my shoulders back to improve my posture, good thing is I can still go gym and do everything, I just cant go too heavy for afew months wich should be ok cause I just started working out again anyway.
