Creatine reaction with carbon dioxide ?

I normally take creatine with water, but I've decided to try and drink it in a soda.
It didn't react well with the CO2, to say the least...
Does anyone know of a typical reaction of Creatine with C02?
It seemed like I was pouring acid into the glass...
