best lat exercise

2 to 3 inches for close grip underhand (this one can carry the most weight)

2 to 3 feet for wide grip chins, depends on your arm length, not good to have a very wide grip as the shoulder joint may suffer!
 
Sorry if this has been posted but I just skimmed this thread and noticed a comment by Me.

Yes, I think as an isolation exercise Pullovers are great but I have said many times that chins/pullups are probably the most productive back exercise followed closely by Rows IMO. But I do love Pullovers.

Also one thing I didn't see mentioned is BF, if your man teets are big and saggin, your lats aren't seen or gonna get much braggin. :D
 
BF = Body Fat?

Oh Yeah, this is critical, I think, must always be considered, else your back will never look good!
