Handbags, at 50 paces... Most annoying thread titles (feel free to add your own!) Newbie needs help (ie He's not read the FAQ) New workout (courage of your own conviction?) I don't get it I still don't get it I haven't got it, and it looks like I never will I'm going back to HIT...

    Homemade leg press

Ah, alas not, DKm, I'm into squats... However I did convert my old York bench into a seated calf raise machine: To coin a phrase "the end comes off," and is replaced by a chest-pad. This is used during seated rowing and acts kinda like a "spider" row. (I'll post pics sooon)...

“To be a Viking you have to eat like a Viking.”

Bollocks - I've been reading too much of this thread and it's frazzled me brain ...the freaking Vikings were probably eating more putred fish than cows

“To be a Viking you have to eat like a Viking.”

So, where do the Vikings figure in this equation? Plenty of Bullshit in this thread... But not many freaking Vikings (anyway they probably ate salted beef, perhaps it was the salt petre that spawned "Viking Power")

    Homemade leg press

Point taken about the L shaped lever, however; the reason for the positioning of the pivot down the lever-arm, is two-fold. This position allows for two leverarms, one either side of the supporting upright, which inturn "sandwich" the shorter footplate arm and makes the joint sturdy...

    Homemade leg press

Nice, but I can't help thinking that the load decreases as your legs straighten (& your bio-leverage becomes more favourable); maybe adding some chains would "equal" it out...

    nature's own

Has anyone used "poison" Ivy as a vasodilator; and if so did you apply it topically - or "brew" it up into some sort of tea? I've seen obscure ref to it in some very old copies of a UK mag (natural development) - but can't find nowt on the 'net...

Although it can be felt in the forearm, it's more of a biceps isolator... (I saw one similar, whilst flicking thru' some fitness mags at the newsagents - last year; and aint seen one since!) TDM

    Setting up a home gym

Here's a pic of my Y3000 (I've since ditched the bench, moved the low pulley foot rests closer together, altered & finally taken off the "dangerous" pec-dek) This is all you need "machine" wise. IMO. Now if I had the money, and could afford a machine for every body-part...

    Power Hooks

$46 (~£23) For 2 bits o' bent bar - that would take all of half an hour to make/form... Don't like the look of these for 3 reasons: In the pics showing a spotter - if the lifter suddenly fails; at best the spotter will lose a few finger nails, but using his elbows as a fulcrum over the oly-bar...
