    HST and stomach

Here's a link to an alternative ab exercise recommended by vicious (at least, I think it was him): http://www.marinefeatures.subportal.com/fitnesslink/men/diffab2.html. I tried it today for the first time and it worked pretty well. Plus, as you get better at it you'll be able to tweak the...

    creatine ethyl ester?

Here's a thread on this subject from not too long ago, although it doesn't address your questions about creatinine levels: creatine ethyl ester, Bryan, any thoughts?

    HST and stomach

Building up your ab muscles will make them more visible even if you do have a bit of fat stored in your midsection. Of course, your six pack will be more visible if you have a low BF%, but either way if you have no muscle you have no six pack. And don't worry, you're not going to put 2+ inches...

CREATINE . Tablet Intake Vs. Liquid Mix

I've never heard of creatine coming in tablet form, but if you're worried about taste there are other options. I use HSN creatine and it has NO flavor. Honestly, none at all. Just mix it in with something - water, milk, pre/post-workout shake, etc. - and you're good to go. It won't change the...

Here's a ThinkMuscle article written by Bryan on this very subject: A Tip for Those Who Use Cardio to Get Ready for a Body-Transformation, Bodybuilding, or Fitness Competition

    Pull ups/Chin Ups

Yes! Score one for my search skills! I found both threads I was thinking of when I wrote my reply. Here's mikeynov's take on Pull-Ups vs. Chin-Ups from the Thread Chinning or Curls for arms: And, not quite as relevant but a good read nonetheless, Ilfacell's The Sternal/Clavicular Debate.

    Pull ups/Chin Ups

Experts, correct me if I'm wrong... Chin-Ups (palms facing you) are easier, meaning you can do more weight, because they use more muscles than Pull-Ups (palms facing away from you). In other words, it is a more compound movement. I believe Chin-Ups hit your lats just as hard as Pull-Ups do...

    Sleep

I read somewhere that flexing all of the muscles in your body for a few seconds and then relaxing is supposed to help you fall asleep. I've never really tried it, though. I've also heard that it helps if you use your bed ONLY for sleeping. Don't lie on it during the day, don't sit on it, etc...

does creatine even help with HST?

http://www.1fast400.com/?ingredients_id=1 That page contains a lot of easy to understand information about creatine, and it seems pretty well referenced. (I can't say whether or not everything it claims is correct, though. I'll leave that to someone more knowledgeable than myself.) A couple...

Who would like to have a recipe thread?

Sure, I'd like to have a recipe thread. But since my ability to cook is nonexistent, the only recipes that I could possibly contribute would be for stuff like macaroni & cheese, tuna sandwiches, Progresso soup, and a few other things. I would really appreciate some easy, tasty, and...

    Cortisol

I've seen a few commercials for something called Relacore (I'm not sure I spelled that right). It says that it helps you to lose weight by decreasing cortisol levels, or something like that. I don't know anything about this, like if it is for real or not, but maybe someone else has heard of it.

    Adding resistance to abs workout

You could try holding a dumbell between your feet. For leg raises I would imagine that this would make the exercise much more difficult, so not much weight would be needed.

    Calories needed to cut.

Bryan wrote a good article on how to cut, and Dianabol's advice goes along with this. Here is the article: A Tip for Those Who Use Cardio to Get Ready for a Body-Transformation, Bodybuilding, or Fitness Competition

    Possible strength routine?

About your troubles with squats and finding the right placement for the bar. I found that HST helped with this. I used to need a pad for the bar. When I started HST I was using light weights for the 15s. I found a good spot for the bar while using light weight, and it was still comfortable...

    Possible strength routine?

da1andonlychacha, My only reason for using Front Squats and Military Press are for when I work out at home because I don't have the weight or equipment to max out on Squat or Bench Press. Otherwise I would use them. I know Military Press doesn't work the pecs at all, but I couldn't think of...

    Possible strength routine?

I'm no expert on strength training, but I too am doing "a semi i think kinda sorta westside style routine." Westside doesn't train chins, but like you I want to get better at them so I incorporated them into my routine. I tried to mirror the bench press strength training in creating...

    "Explosive" Pushups?

That is an interesting article. In short, yes, they are for real. Speed training, or dynamic effort training, is an important part of some powerlifting programs, such as WSB. I think the best way of explaining this is through an analogy I read in a WSB article. Take 3 objects: a ping-pong...

    Principles & Methods

Does this mean that if one were to go from a strength program to HST, some of the strength gains would be lost during SD? Or would this finding not apply because their period of detraining lasts for 8 weeks while SD is only ~2 weeks?

    Stubborn Arms

Dianabol, thanks for the great info. One more question: should fascia stretching be done throughout the entire cycle, or should it be reserved for during the heavier portions?
