HST Web Site and Forum Down Time

We've made some major changes that will help in the long run. Had to change databases (dbm>mysql) and we also upgraded to the latest version of Ikonboard. That's why the skins are different. Not only that but I've moved to a new server and ISP. Hopfully the board will be more stable and more...

    New study

Sorry about that Aaron. Not sure what happened. I'm having some work done on the board to ensure that it continues to work into the future. There may be some ups and downs over the next several days, but after that, it will work better than ever.

How many lb to notice a differrence

It's important that you not get discouraged. Do what you know you need to do to gain the weight you want, and then stick to it until it happens for you. It may take a few months, it may take a few years. For me, growth has never been a steady process. I grow for a while, then I stop. Some time...

question regarding the HST training prog

Professor, welcome to the forum. There is a principle of HST which states that the potential of any load to induce hypertrophy is dependant on the sensitivity of the tissue to that load at the time the load is applied. Or to put it more simply, the amount of weight required to induce growth...

    hyperplasia

There isn't enough data available to make recommendations about how to induce hyperplasia with any degree of certainty. Basically, the more extreme the microtrauma, falling short of irreperable damage, the greater the probability that some new fiber formation might occur. This assumes that...

    Bench Press Form

I usually come down to my chin when the weight gets heavy. But that is a "groove" that seems to work for me to avoid injury. A different groove may serve others better in this regard.

    leg training

Doing sprints might help with a little rehab, but it will soon lose anabolic potential. Your best bet is to stick with extension and curls until you heal up.

    Starting out

Yeah, check out the rest of the site. :) Until then, start with two weeks of SD. I know, sounds crazy but it will pay off. Try to start with minimum effective load for the 15s. In other words, the least amount of weight that still has the potential of making you a little sore.
