was reading in a magazine the author says to promote hyperplasia after a conventional set of 8 reps or so add 20-30% more weight and do 10-15 partial reps 1 inch or 2 in the stretch position .he recommends this for stretch exercise only.any sense in that?

There isn't enough data available to make recommendations about how to induce hyperplasia with any degree of certainty.

Basically, the more extreme the microtrauma, falling short of irreperable damage, the greater the probability that some new fiber formation might occur.

This assumes that your growth factor levels and endocrine system are optimal.

So in short, there is nothing that a person would do to induce hyperplasia that they woudn't do anyway (assuming they know what they are doing ;) )
