Just got back from a Kevin Levrone seminar.

Yeah, I have no problem that people are making gains instinctively. Some people in the gym are definitely using the ideology of HST though, but it's just not to the extent that we use it here. I don't think everyone needs to be a wiz or anything, but it would be nice for people(mostly...

15s the same as 5s for hypertrophy?

I think that would be true only if the load being used was the same. If it was, and you could do 15 reps with that particular weight then I'd imagine the growth stimulus to be very similar. Except, in HST the reason not to use 15 reps even if your in the 5 rep block is to reduce exhaustion and...

Just got back from a Kevin Levrone seminar.

You said it right Bryan. I find it funny though that it relates to most "big" people in the gym as well as pro bodybuilders. I have been on plenty of exercise machines, using dumbells, or just waiting between sets at times where I have seen a ton of people come up to the...

    At the Arnold

Great pic Elle and Bryan! I am definitely going to try to make it down to the Mr. O this year. I'm trying to save money and hopefully should have enough by the end of summer but who knows. I'm looking forward to meeting you. Do you think you'll have a booth, and/or are you doing any seminars?

    Could you be a pro?

Gunter used to go to my gym about a year ago. He is one of the nicest bodybuilders I've met so far, and muchhhhhh bigger in person. If I remember correctly I either heard or read that he has a very hard time eating to gain mass. It may have to do with all the traveling, etc. Over the last couple...

    At the Arnold

how to keep workout time down

Everyone gave some really good, helpfull ideas that you should take into consideration. Each of my workouts has half the amount of total sets your performing. For me, when I reach the 5 rep block I don't feel the need to do 4 sets AT ALL. I normally do 2 sets and I'm done. That's all I need...

Just got back from a Kevin Levrone seminar.

Yeah, exactly. I amazes me that these people make a nice living like this. I think they deserve the attention they get because of the accomplishments they made in bodybuidling, but man that might be it, haha. I'd figure athletes in general would want to learn as much as possible about their body...

Just got back from a Kevin Levrone seminar.

I just got back home from a 24 hour fitness semiar and Kevin Levrone was the guest speaker. First off, he is a nice guy so I'm not disappointed in him as a person. I just figured a bodybuilder with as many wins as he has under his belt, on top of having an incredible impressive physique would...

A Health Sc. teacher told me that Grape juice....

Gimme the paper, haha. Yeah I'll definitely be respectful. She's really nice and I love that class. I'll have to ask and see.

A Health Sc. teacher told me that Grape juice....

....Doesn't really allow the body to absorb macronutrients very well. For example if you had a meal with grape juice it may hinder the absorption of other nutrients in the meal. This doesn't make to much sense to me, and I've never heard anything like this before. I checked around on the net...

    How much protein during SD?

I have dropped my diet a couple hundred calories less, and .7g of protein per pound of bodyweight, and I didn't notice muscle loss. If your worried about it don't change your diet too much.

    Cant Lose Weight

Lance and Bosox already said it sard. Your nutritional habits aren't doing you any good for your goals. In order to loose weight find out the amount of calories that you can consume to maintain a your current weight. You will have to eat below that in order to loose weight. You don't have to go...

Mr. Haycock: trying to understand HST principles

Dan, after reading this post you seem to have the perfect name for a bunch of nicknames, haha. You should call yourself Dan the Hypertrophy Man!; or since you help give us all those great studies it could Danny the Hypernanny.

    HS:CRE out of stock?

I would GLADLY buy any product of yours due to your honest nature over any well known company on the market. Finding a sincere business man seems impossible now adays. I seriously wish the best for you and the HSN line in the future, because it deserves more attention than it currently does...

Bulking up while keeping waistline slim

10-4! What he said. It's better to just focus on a specific goal and go after it.

Any HST routine for an athlete?

I don't know what made me think of this, maybe the DKM explaining the shirt, but Bryan are you going to have a HST booth at the Mr. Olympia this year? I may try to make it this year which would be the first, and I may even wear a HST shirt to give everyone a little nudge nudge to try it ;).

Any HST routine for an athlete?

HST would be fine for an athlete. I realize one of the reasons it may not be "specifically" designed for powerlifters, etc would be because they want to take advantage of strength gains, or speed over size. They might train a certain way to cater to their goals as an athlete. HST is...
