I think this is all variable. I can't lose an ounce without cardio regardless of how intense my resistance training is. I incorporate Lyle's cardio program with 6 HIIT sprints and then 20 minutes of SS cardio. I feel cardio is part of a total fitness program. I lost 40 pounds when I did a...
There are men's multi's with no iron. Look into that option. 2 MVI's a day is a lot of well....vitamins and minerals. THere is no real benefit with going above the RDA of V and M's. Research of V anf M mega dosages are poor. You may want to use 1/2 a MVI and let your diet take care of the...
I have recently gone down to four meals a day and I can say after a week that my appetite is under better control than with 5. A 250-300 calorie meal just makes me want more to eat. We shall see how this plays out in thsi HST cycle.
Hmm, very interesting. I grew up in the frequent feedings = better nitrogern balance, appetite supression, yada, yada. Seems like Lyle's analysis puts this dogma to rest. I seem to have better satiety with 3-4 meals anyways.
I do not tolerate ephedrine very well, plus the evidence that it can cause BPH has further scared me off. What are some good dosing regimines that have worked for you Steve? Thanks again.
My goal is to get to 8% BF my next HST cycle. I have some fat hanging around the waist (10 mm last test one month ago). Would yohimbe be effective at this juncture or stay the course with caffeine and tyrosine? Any comments, stories are welcome.
Thanks.
I read a small French study some while back (I will dig it up if someone wants to see it), but it correlated increased feedings and BMI. The more feedings per day the lesser BMI was the gist of the study.
This is very dependent on the types of protein and carbs you consume, GI index, calories and fats as well. A fast acting protein and carb is good such as whey and maltodextrin or something like raisins. Slower proteins are casein. Both are actually available to tissues rather quickly. Does...
I eat 4-5 times a day but this better serves appetite control for me. I really can't see any difference at the end-of-the-day with 3 feedings versus 5 or more other than subjective appetite control.
I feel this is just another way to reduce calories and another attempt to find magic bullets. I do decrease CHO throughout the day b/c it help control my appetite, but no strict form of this.
I continue to read "support" research on macronutrient partitioning in regards to PC and PF meals and insulin response blah, blah, blah. Berardi's zealots seem to love this approach. I did some Medline research and came up with NOTHING to support this other than a tertiary study with...
Protein would be less important after about 2-3 days into the SD. Other than that a modest drop in calories to account for inactivity would be sufficcient. No need to really change your ratios.
It all goes into the whole food vs. isolated micronutrient argument. (aka chicken or the egg). Is it the whole food and the synergistic effects of food or the isolated micro. Research in many isolated nutrients is poor especially the isolated Vit. E correaltion to heart disease risk.
