    Weight Gain From Creatine

Sure! Even if you were cutting, there's no reason why you couldn't have both. Jake

    Speed of Reps with HST

In general, 2-0-2 is fine throughout. However, for the 15s, especially in the lighter weights, you could do 4-0-2 to accentuate the burn. And for the negs, you might try 2-0-4 for those lifts you can't do negatives on. Oh- Kate suggested doing something like 2-2-2 for calf raises- the rest at...

    comments on new routine

Doesn't look too bad, actually, if you're comfortable with doing squats and DLs on the same day. Otherwise, you might try alternating them. Jake

    Weight Gain From Creatine

Nice post, Cylus. I wonder if Ian King's comments are driven by the fact that everyone, creatine or no, will plateau at some point- that's just life. Anyway, I'd want to see some hard evidence (like from a clinical trial) that cycling is necessary. In the last analysis, I agree with Cylus- do...

    methods of cooking eggs

The ice water thing also makes it easier to peel the shell off the eggs- crucial if you're into deviled and you want the eggs to look pretty without a lot of scars and pockmarks. Jake

    creatine

Cylus is right, mellon, check with your doc about this, although I've never heard of this before either. But first, you have just one thyroid, although it has two "horns." Why do you think it's your thyroid? There are other things like lymph nodes in the same region that can (and...

    methods of cooking eggs

Nice recipe, Dianabol! I also like them slow-scrambled with cream and freshly snipped chives. Add a warm currant-laden scone with butter and strawberry preserves (hi-GI carbs be damned!) and you've got a breakfast/brunch that can't be beat! Jake

    Music For Lifting

I would suggest anything by Tantric- they are awesome for w/os, especially Breakdown, Astounded, and Paranoid. They used to be part of Days of the New, so that gives you an idea of what they're like. Jake

    Recommending creatine?

Techno- Actually, check the FAQ- I think there's a thread there about using creatine when cutting. From my limited experience, I can tell you that it's working for me very nicely so far- I've been using it for this cycle while cutting and I'm responding well. Jake

Need Help in Making a Diet...

C.K.- I agree with Techno that HIIT is an excellent way to do cardio, for a lot of reasons, but it's extremely important to work your way into it gradually. The link Techno posted is good, and there are others if you Google HIIT. However, I wouldn't wait to start HST until after you've lost...

    Where'd you get your username?

Actually, my real name is John- Jake is just a nic I've had for quite a while. Coincidentally, it's also the name of my incredibly tenacious yet sweetie of a dog (he's part terrier- nuff said). Not that I'm trying to emulate him or anything, but if he could lift a bar, he'd probably bench 500...

Creatine dagerous? Look at what these people are

Don't they teach the scientific method in high school anymore? YIKES! Mikey's so right-we're talking *seriously* ignorant here. Jake

    Too many sets?

What was your cadence on the 15s? If you do 4-0-2, you should feel the burn. Also, I'd probably do just two sets of incline bench (low incline, about 15-20 degrees) and two sets of dips. On the latter, make sure you lean in with your chest and keep your elbows out. Jake

    Time To Start HST???

It's really up to you, Cyber, but if you're interested in trying it out, what's to lose? HST isn't touted as a strength program, but a lot of us in here have experienced superior strength gains. ANd, of course, it's truly exellent for mass gains. I'd consider doing it if I were you. Jus make...

    Yet *another* creatine question

I'm about to start supplementing with creatine, but have what is probably a silly question. I'm on a 2X/day, 3X/week schedule. Assuming I take 5G/day, is there any benefit to partitioning this dose into two 2.5G doses, to be taken after each workout? I'd probably prefer to take the 5G dose in...

how to get heavy db's into place??

There was also a thread that included reference to these things you can hang from a bar, on which you can hang the DBs. They're called Power Hooks and you can see them here: http://www.body-builders.com/month.htm Disclaimer- I'm not a shill for these guyus- just trying to be helpful! Jake
