First Day of 5's really hard.

That's actually not a great way to do it, the load is more important than the number of reps. You should keep the load the same during the workout and not worry about the reps in the second and third sets, or use clustering to get the reps if you must. If you use a weight on your first set, then...

    Customizing HST

For one, just adding a rep or two really isn't going to do much of anything, though it can't hurt, as long as you don't go to failure. On the other hand, the hammer curl on an incline, (if that's what you are doing), is more for stretching the muscle under load, so it's not as important to keep...

    Loaded and Pulsed Stretches

Actually, Jules talks about different kinds of "pulsing" as I recall. There is pulsing in the contracted position, as well as pulsing in the stretched position. So we have 1. Loaded stretches 2. Stretched pulses 3. Contracted pulses 4. Static holds Each has a different effect...

    BIOTEST

There is a discussion of this over at avantlabs.com. http://forum.avantlabs.com/index.p....c=16570 They don't seem to think to highly of biotest in general.

    A WORLD WITHOUT CANCER?

Wow, there is so much wrong with your post I don't know where to begin. How about this, the article you quoted is from a website that SELLS LAETRILE!!! Yeah, that's a unbiased source for sure. And this: "Naturopathic physicians who have studied the medical pathology of the patients...

    A WORLD WITHOUT CANCER?

    2 year layoff

Sorry I didn't see your question before, but just to make sure, I was saying that you can use your last 15 workout, your 15RM, to start your 10s with, and if need be, you can repeat a certain weight throughout your cycle if you can't make large enough increments. RBE is the repeated bout effect...

    The 5s are amazing

I don't think he's doing negatives, just the 5RM. And there should be no problem doing 3 sets during your 5's.

    2 year layoff

I avoid zig zagging by repeating weights if I can't make large enough increments. I think zig zagging is a waste. We increase weights to stay ahead of RBE, so if you can't increase the weight you are more likely to get some stimulation from repeating a weight than using less weight.

Refeeds not necessary when cutting up?

This may be helpful to you: http://www.avantlabs.com/magmain.php?issueID=3&pageID=51 "Just as with hunger control, fat loss is remarkably rapid at the beginning of a diet, however, it invariably slows, and if appropriate steps are not taken, it stops. Low leptin levels are correlated...

    Value of Squatting

Here's what I was talking about regarding tightening your midsection: "Now that your upper back is tight you'll need to tighten your midsection. First, expand your abdomen as much as possible. When you pull air into your body it should be into the diaphragm, not the chest. Expand you belly...

    Value of Squatting

I've also seen recommendations to do the exact opposite of the vacuum. Basically you tighten your stomach as if you were about to be punched, and tighten your glutes as well, kind of like straining on the toilet, for want of a better analogy. Similar to what pilots do when doing high G maneuvers...

    Value of Squatting

Though some don't like Smith machine for squatting, after I injured my back on the leg press free squatting wasn't an option, so I tried the Smith machine. I found that I was able to walk my feet out in front of me more, leaning back against the bar and keeping my back more vertical, which...

    Value of Squatting

I did some investigating and it seems that if you go too low on a leg press machine your sacrum, (http://sprojects.mmi.mcgill.ca/postabdwall/image-vertebrae2a-sacrum.jpg) can come off the pad and cause problems: "NEVER bring your legs so far back that your tail bone (sacrum) or lower back...

    Value of Squatting

One thing to consider is the potential for lower back problems from heavy leg pressing. I tweaked my back pretty badly on a leg press machine. I think the leg press can put a lot of shearing stress on the lower back, especially the machines with a fairly upright seating position. I believe Blade...
