    EFAs

Thanks, smee. That is what I was after: Can anyone tell me what happens if one is not consuming adequate EFAs -- particularly with regards to a hypocaloric diet?

    EFAs

I've read of the benefits of EPA and DHA, and all the EFAs a million times, but what is it that makes them essential? For instance, in the FAQ there is a section about losing fat, and several times it is mentioned that any diet MUST start with adequate protein and EFAs.  Adequate protein makes...

    Medial Delts???

I use a grip that is about shoulder width, maybe a bit wider, and I raise the bar to the bottom of my chest.  I've had good success with this, although I still do lateral raises (1 arm at a time, holding a post or something with my other hand).   I think if you are only raising the bar to your...

    Medial Delts???

I seem to recall Bryan saying that he did them the same way, but can't remember if that was his reason or not.

    Medial Delts???

What is the reason for reducing the ROM?  Is there a safety issue, or does the upper portion involve the medial delt more? It seems like that would remove the strong range of the exercise and potentially limit the load, or at least the number of reps one could complete.   Incidentally, I've been...

    CLA quality

All right, sir. I'll see your studies and raise you one. The following is from the Bryan. "CLA does work in humans. Here are some references. 1. Jiang J, Wolk A, Vessby B. Relation between the intake of milk fat and the occurrence of conjugated linoleic acid in human adipose tissue. Am J...

    CLA quality

I've just got a quick second to reply, but Bryan just sent me a series of studies about CLA (with humans), which I will post later. While the results are not as dramatic as with rats, it does seem to work. :)

    CLA quality

Actually, Aaron, after reviewing your comments from some other similar threads, I'm wondering why you feel that CLA is not a worthwhile supplement. Based on the studies posted in the FAQ and what Bryan says, it seems like a fairly effective substance.

    CLA quality

So, Aaron, should I be concerned at all about a non name brand CLA -- in terms of quality?

    Really? No one knows?

    CLA quality

Can there be much difference in the quality of CLA products? Bulk Nutrition has its own brand of CLA in quantities of 1000 or 2000 capsules for a (comparatively) low price. Usually CLA is too expensive for me, but this I might try. Just wanna make sure its worth my money.

    Timing of creatine

Always take it before you workout. Exercise increases creatine uptake into the working muscles. Also read the FAQ section for more info about this.

    EFA, CLA, and FAQ

By the way, did you mean that it blocks storage of triglycerides? Stimulating storage of triglycerides seems like an undesirable effect.

    EFA, CLA, and FAQ

Wow. DKM, there was not one word in your post that I don't have to look up. I think, though, that your answer was "yes"? :D

    EFA, CLA, and FAQ

I was just reading in the FAQ section about efa and cla and it reminded me of a question I never got the answer to (from back when I first got on this board). So here it is again: Do efa's have an effect on nutrient partitioning or fat burning, the way that cla does? The faq is unclear about...

    Couple questions on growth

Thanks, Bob, I appreciate that.  And I think you're right, by the way.  That has also been my experience -- that growth comes in spirts.  I guess I just got nervous and a little discouraged (and curious). DKM, I guess I thought that some of those things you listed were one and the same as the...

    Lat pulldown

I agree with Dood. There isn't much difference between the different grips other than the degree of stretch. Close grip provides the best stretch and, thus, is best for causing myotrauma.
