Specializing and metabolic stress while cutting

Only reason i worry about not doing metabolic work while cutting is to keep my muscles full of glycogen. It just looks good. =) If i'm wrong, please explain.

    powdered sugar?

If by regular sweeteners you mean Splenda, Nutrasweet, and the bunch, then no. They're 0 calories, no sugar/carbs/etc to spike your insulin levels. If you mean just regular sugar ... honestly i don't know but i can't imagine much of a difference.

    Lecithin

I'm assuming you mean CNS, the central nervous system. If J is I in English, then maybe Z is C in English. =) I don't know the answer, just clearifying what ZNS maybe means before anyone gets confused.

    cluster HST and 912 Hst

That seems like an awful small amount of time actually lifting. You could lift for many more weeks, thus having alot more time to cut.

    EFA recomendations

I was thinking, take the right amount of fish oil caps (i forgot, like 3-4 g's or something, although some say it's a mircale supplement at higher doses), and then just eat the rest of your fats trying to keep clean. Minimize sat's, and ya know, eat good fats. Nuts, olive oil, seeds, etc.

    EFA recomendations

Most of the time i hear about dieting on this board, when it comes to fats it's said to get "mostly efa's". How is that possible? From what i've read, the only source to really get your EFA's from is fish oils. Flax, walnuts, etc. are converted very poorly and inneficiently to EFA's, a...

    Different HSt routine

What about instead of such volume, 5 sets x 3 days weekly, you increased the frequency. I'm told frequency is more productive than volume. Lets say 5 sets x 3 days = 15 sets weekly. How about 3 sets of each, done Mon - Fri? Regardless, i see nothing wrong with it. Definately weird. I've...

Ok to train two days in a row?

That's why you make your training less intense, and use less sets per exercise. Intensity and all that lingering bodybuilding advice is actually based on increasing strength, i believe ... This is new age. This is science. Basically for the fastest results, train as often and hard as...

Specializing and metabolic stress while cutting

For the last 5-6 months i've learned and tried alot of techniques laid out by Vicious and others. Like loaded stretches, pulses, higher frequency, etc. This has all been great while trying to add weight, but now i'm ready to cut. I'm worrying that with all this extra work, cutting may lead to...

Bryan - Gain or lose first?

Negatives-How do you impliment them all?

I've thought about that before. Decided it was not worth the time and effort, especially at a public gym where i'd get people's hopes up to get on the squat rack several times.

Negatives-How do you impliment them all?

Negatives aren't able to be implemented on all exercises. Squats for instance. Unless you have someone who can lift you and the weight up so you can slowly drop down again, it's just not feasible. That's why there are alternatives. For instance, when moving to neg's, move to leg press. Use...

Can I reduce protein intake during SD?

I was thinking along the lines of < calories during cycle, maintenance for SD, then back to < calories for next cycle. I figured after your post 5's (or wherever you end), going straight into the 15's would give no hypertrophic stimuli, since your muscles were allready conditioned to such...

Can I reduce protein intake during SD?

DKM, I don't understand the not SD'ing if cutting advice. If i'm not mistaken, wouldn't you lose out on the anabolic stimulis if you went right back into lighter weights at the end of a HST cycle, thus not as muscle sparing?

    Best for chest

Db's > bar ; better stretch, ROM, and possibly less injury prone Incline benching puts less emphasist on your lower chest region, thus is good to try to bring up a lagging upper chest. Flat bench and dips hit the entire chest. Dips > flat bench. I suggest adding and/or replacing the...
