20 Breathing Reps For All Exercises

Rest pause systems like Myo Reps are designed to get more TUT on close to maximum effort repetitions and less TUT on ineffective reps. Not for the inexperienced or the faint of heart lifters.

20 Breathing Reps For All Exercises

When you get into these heavy-weight, high-rep intense exercises, machines are safer.

20 Breathing Reps For All Exercises

20 reps (and the very similar "Max Stim") is great for large muscle groups but I find I can get the same result more efficiently and for even smaller muscle groups using "Myo Reps" . I am somewhat biased toward Myo Reps because it is easier on my old joints.

    Do We Still Rate Sit-ups/crunches?

Disregarding back issues, I always found a weighted crunch machine the best exercise to build strictly abdominal muscle. For overall core strength and safety, I believe planks to be the best. Theses exercises will not lead to a tapered look though. That takes diet.

You cannot do them too much. 20 times per day is only 10 minutes under tension.

Hst For Upper Body, Strength Focus For Lower Body?

Yes, while simultaneously shrugging your shoulders maximally. Hold for 30 seconds. And do not forget the face pulls. They will help with that rounded shoulder posture that occurs from a lot bench pressing due to pec muscle shortening and work the rear traps to give that full look. Probably the...

Hst For Upper Body, Strength Focus For Lower Body?

Basically just that and holding at maximum full contraction for 30 seconds. No weight needed. You can do them anytime so frequency and volume can be quite high. I do variations also such as holding my arms over my head while maximally contracting the traps or putting my hands together behind my...

    The Case For Isometrics

I could never get decent traps until I incorporated using Isometric exercises daily and then they exploded within three months. Also found them to be useful for full triceps development.

The Other Side Of The Equation

Yup. :) But I would change the "just" in your sentence to "can".

The Other Side Of The Equation

Nope. Just that the average lifter can maintain with very low volume.

The Other Side Of The Equation

Why? The goal I am speaking about is not to make gains but to not lose muscle with minimal volume. Sure, beginners can make great gains working out for 60 minutes per week. I will not.

The Other Side Of The Equation

Sure, if you are happy with where you are currently but do not want to lose any muscle. As long as your diet is spot on with your activity level and encourages the production of testosterone and not cortisol, you can go years with just one or two 1/2 hour full body workouts per week and not lose...

The Other Side Of The Equation

Maintenance, or suspended atrophy, volume is amazing low. Bryan has written something about it several years back but I couldn't find it.

The Other Side Of The Equation

Dean, I had an 8 month SD due to shoulder surgery this year and did not see much muscle loss. I picked up where I left off and two months later I am seeing some good gains from where I was pre-surgery. I think much off that muscle retention is from having worked out for about 60 years. Someone...
