    Something Funny I Just Noticed

So I was reading the fine print on my HSN creatine container, and I noticed a few odd things. Under the "Supplement Facts", in small font, it has the copyright, all rights reserved, etc. information. At the very end it says, "No reproduction without the express written consent of...

    Tension VS Volume Increase

I'm not saying that there is no benefit to maintaining or increasing total work done, just that tension is more important provided that you have enough TUT to make that load effective. I just remember having seen some programs a while ago recommending that you multiply sets x reps x weight and...

    Factors Influencing Creatine Absorption

I've been looking at some information about creatine and various factors that can improve creatine absorption. Here are the main ones I've found. Please feel free to comment on any of them. 1. Dextrose - the idea here is that taking dextrose (or some other high GI carbohydrate) along with...

    Tension VS Volume Increase

One of the fundamental principles behind HST is that tension, not X sets or Y reps or Z total work done, is the main signal for hypertrophy. IMO, programs recommending an increase over time in total work done, i.e. sets x reps x weight, are based on pseudo-mathematical thinking, not real science...

    Creatine . replacement suggestions .

I too have been looking around for other quality creatine products. One source of information I found was "The Creatine Report" by Will Brink. You can download it free from http://www.creatine-report.com/, all you need is a valid e-mail address. It seemed to me like it was pretty well...

    Macronutrient breakdown?

One dkm post deserves another! Here's his response to the same question, posed by yours truly, from the thread endomorphic bodybuilding, want muscle, but not fat!. Basically the same info, but a few additional things.

    Carbohydrates

I've got a question about the article. Didn't really read much of the article, but I did notice this tidbit about drinking water/fluids. That can't be true, can it? How much of an impact could 5 or 10 minutes really have on digestion? Either way, both water and food are in the stomoach...

What do you guys think of German Volume Training

What if you go on a low-carb diet and deplete all your glycogen, which would make your muscles smaller, then eat a bunch of carbs and replete your glycogen, making your muscles bigger. Isn't that sarcoplasmic growth? Sure, you might end up exactly where you started, but the point is that...

Are rest days required at all??

Old and Grey, I believe you once said you found it difficult to gain muscle when your frequency is really high because of the huge amount of calories that such high frequency workouts demand. How have your mass gains been this cycle? Also, how many sets of each exercise do you do per workout...

    Nausea and Vomiting

Yeah, that will do it for me too. But I really don't eat much in the hour or two before I go to the gym. Usually I'll have a glass of milk 10-15 minutes before I workout, but that's it. I do drink some water while working out, but I don't think that should be a significant problem.

    Youngest bodybuilder ?

I'm not gonna step into the roids/no roids debate, I'll leave that to others. I just wanted to say that the kid is not THAT big. Sure, he's lean, toned, and he has a six pack, but I wouldn't say he's huge. Don't get me wrong, for an 8 year old, his physique and his strength are amazing. But he...

    Nausea and Vomiting

I don't know. I didn't even know there were different kinds of heat. I don't notice any difference. Nope. Will do. In my humble, non-physiologically educated opinion, it feels like my body just isn't getting enough oxygen. Perhaps this could be due to poor air circulation in the gym...

    Nausea and Vomiting

Lately, whenever I train using high reps (10 or 15) I get nauseous. Today I threw up after my workout. I know that my volume is within reason, so that's not the problem. I also know that the usual cause of nausea is the lactic acid caused by high reps. However, I used to be able to handle it...

What do you guys think of German Volume Training

That's what science and Actarus tell us, yes. Of course, IMO, every non-horrible training system will work to some extent, it's just that the gains might come VERY slowly.

What do you guys think of German Volume Training

Actarus is saying that because it has you doing so much volume, it will promote sarcoplasmic growth, which basically means that it will increase muscle size by filling the muscle with mainly water and glycogen. (This is accomplished by the 15s and 10s with HST.) This is nice and all, but if you...

    endomorphic bodybuilding

While I agree that you will inevitably put on fat whenever you put on significant muscle mass, couldn't you shift nutrient partitioning towards muscle so as to minimize fat gain, possibly by using vinegar? After all, I think it's pretty much accepted that you can shift nutrient partitioning...

    flax seed oil

Where? The greatest store in the land: Costco! OK, so technically I'm not MrNasty, but I did recently get a 300 gel cap bottle of fish oil from Costco. It's Kirkland brand. Here's a little info I got right off the Supplement Facts: Each softgel contains 10 Calories 1 g Fat .25 g Saturated Fat...

    endomorphic bodybuilding

I've seen that vinegar thread before, and I think your idea sounds like a clever way to improve nutrient partitioning by making sure that carbohydrates are used to refuel muscles rather than for building fat. However, there are two aspects about it that make me think it might not work as well as...
