    TAKE THIS POLL...PLEASE!!!!

I buy from bodybuilding.com. The biggest reason I stick with them is the no hassle shipping to my PO/FPO AP boxes. A lot of places I have tried to shop do not ship to FPO/APO/PO's, or they charge unreasonable rates to do so. There are a lot of deployed military guys out there that buy...

Macronutrient Make-up of a Good Diet

That is exactly what I needed to know. Now, this statement leads to my next question. When cutting, everything changes, right? Due to the thermogenisis that a higher level of protein takes to digest, it is in a person's best interest to increase protein intake during a cut phase? What is a...

Macronutrient Make-up of a Good Diet

Thanks for your input. The most confusing thing for me is the protein thing. Some say .8-1g/lbs is plenty for any athelete. Then you got the mags and websites that say 1.5-2g/lbs. As Bryan said, it's usually the people that sell protein that say this. So what is the truth? Ok, let me ask this...

Macronutrient Make-up of a Good Diet

I am 5'10'', 200lbs, 12% bf, and consider myself mesomorphic, in nature. I have been struggling with tons of conflicting information on what sort of macronutrient split is the best for a bodybuilding diet. Here is what I gather so far: Protein: 1g per lbs of bodyweight. My only question on this...

    Morning Workouts

What is a lot of protein? 30g? What is a few carbs? 20g? Sorry for being so meticulous, but some people's perception of a little protein is much different than mine.

Eating at maintenance, then upping cals

Same here. I am in the 10-12% boat, so gaining 12 lbs without having to eat bulk style for 8 weeks sounds good to me. What's the science behind this?? Oh, and don't mean to hijack, but should the macronutrients be around 30p/45c/25f ? That was the best I could gather from the HSN article.

    volume confusion

Rodger that. I guess that's why someone said (Dan or Bryan?"): Do 15x1, 10x2, and 5x3. Think of anything more as a bonus, but not required. I am by no means a noob to lifting, but when it comes to HST, I am still wearing diapers.

Thanks for your input. I prefer to eat afterwards, but I have just always been afraid that training before breakfast would hurt my performance.

    Hilarious Article by Alwyn Cosgrove

Very funny. Thanks for sharing. I think he went a little overboard on the pickles, though. If you are comparing your food to your genitals, I think ther is a bigger, perhaps psychological problem at hand (and I like pickles, damnit).

    Morning Workouts

With my schedule I have two options: A:  Eat before my workout at 530 AM, and workout at 700AM.  I have been doing this, eating oatmeal, 4 eggs, 1-2 pieces of fruit, and sometimes a little cottage cheese.  After I workout, I take a PWO shake, about 30g protein, 75g carbs, and 10g creatine. B...

    Curiousity

That is a good question, as I seem to be the same way. I am a meso, so I naturally don't store much fat, but I definatly ain't cut to shreds either. I have tried to cut up several times, but have only been successful as of late (finally started learning about NUTRITION), but I found that I...

First time HST'er with some Questions.

Sorry for the double post, but another question. Volume is a big topic in regards to HST, and I'm trying to get an idea of what exactly is 'ideal'. Obviously it varies from person to person, but what sort of volume are you looking for when setting up a program, and how exactly do you calculate...

    volume confusion

Sorry, but I'm still new to HST: Say you do 3 sets during the 15/10/5's. Isn't your volume decreasing over time? IE: (15x3=45, 5x3=15)? Or is my perception of volume terribly wrong? Is this ok, to decrease volume as load increases?

First time HST'er with some Questions.

Got it. Now I have: A: Leg Press Incline Press(~15 deg) Standing Military Press Pull Ups Curls (various DB) Shrugs Lying Tri X-tension B: Dead Lift Dips DB Press Seated Row Curls Standing Calves Rev Tri Pull-downs So, should I do (A) in the AM, and (B) in the PM, or split (A) and (B) up...

First time HST'er with some Questions.

Thanks. I guess I was bass ackwards on that idea, as I though that you were supposed to dump them on the 15's, and do them during the 10's and 5's only. Now I got the idea. Would you replace the Leg Curls with SLDL, or just drop the hams all together? I put leg curls with deads as opposed to...

Finished first cycle - some results

Great job Steve; I'd be interested in knowing your previous lifting experience. I assume that 191 lbs @ 12% means that you were somewhat versed in the gym? The reason I ask is that 9 lbs gain in a 8(?) week cycle is not bad for a seasoned lifter. I have yet to try HST, but I am on my second...

    how big is everyone?

I know it's been a while since the last post, but I guess since it is a sticky, its ok.  This is me as of Dec 14.  I'm 5'10", about 200 lbs @ ~11% BF.  I haven't decided how much bigger I want to get, but I have decided to try HST to accomplish it.  I do wonder, when is enough enough?

First time HST'er with some Questions.

Ok, after more reading, I think I'm going to try a little bit different approach. Since AM/PM workouts are great for me, and apparently they are even preferable in respect to frequency and the summation (sp) effect, I decided that they will be better for me. SO, does this look better? AM Leg...
