The creatine article on this site

Hansson I have seen two general views on this. One view is that people's gain from creatine is "one" shot deal. The strength gain jumps, and then it vanishes (when the water goes away). The second view is that not only does creatine cause temporary water weight retention (and...

    Myostatin Blockers

Well, first of all, the more important question is: Is the concept that oral administration of myostatin blockers will help in hypertrophy viable? A number of pubmed abstracts indicate that administration of myostatin blockers are likely to help in hypertrophy. So, the concept is not a stupid...

    Myostatin Blockers

Wow, so, that 1 in 1000,000,000 is now reduced to perhaps 1 in 1000. I suppose the next questions are (1) even if it survives in the stomach, does it get absorbed ... (2) are the university studies valid? Thanks for the update BIZ. Good info. Let us know how it goes.

    1-AD??

As Steve said, it works -- you will grow for sure. It depends on dosage also. I took 6 caps a day for 4 weeks and put on 15 lbs, but if I do it again, I will take 9 caps/day for 6 weeks. You can get a bottle of 1-AD for about $36 at massnutrition.com. So, a single cycle will cost about $200 (6...

    longterm diet experiments

stevie I definitely feel healthier when I am lighter -- I am one of those few people who does not like bulking. Eating less just feels better. So far, I have not yet tried to do protein + veg diet + EFA + multi-vita + magnesium + zinc. I might just start on it, however, as it sounds pretty good.

This may help with optimising HIIT for fat loss

"Just HST baby" -- If Austin Powers tried HST, thatz what he'd say. > In the practical sense, it wouldn't so much point to aerobic > activity causing more fat storage, I agree with that. I didn't mean to say it "causes" more fat storage -- just that there is a bf%...

This may help with optimising HIIT for fat loss

jules (vicious) But at least it does make sense, right? Marathoners need to have certain amount of fat reserve -- this is necessary, because, to run a relatively long distance they need dense energy source (fat). Of course, they cannot carry too much fat, because it will bog them down. Given...

This may help with optimising HIIT for fat loss

This may help with optimising HIIT for fat loss

I think there is something to the article. for 3 reasons. (1) Traditional HIIT routine contains significant aerobic component. It is "comparatively" (in terms of calories used from different energy sources) less aerobic than low intensity cardio, but it still uses up great deal of...

    Myostatin Blockers

I should be quick to add that there IS a 1 in 1000,000,000 chance ... so who knows, it is just possible that Myostatin blockers will work. If it does, don't keep it to yourself!!! BTW, I have done some reading about myostatin research. It seems that myostatin plays a role in muscle...

    Myostatin Blockers

All compounds, before it can be shown to be effective orally, generally go through several stages of testing ... We have in-vitro experiments. Then, we have in vivo testing in animals, usually injections. If one is lucky, perhaps we can get to test oral administration. In any case, regarding...

    Excellent source of dietary fibre

Good to see you posting again, El_Machinae. As for dietary fiber, I don't have a good answer, because I use Muslix.

    Beer drinkers beware!!!!

I am a bit confused ... it seems to me that the study said beer raises estrogen receptors in the liver. Is this the same thing as raising the estrogen level itself?

    Protein Poll

One can do the math ... for 20% protein intake by cals. Say you eat 4000 cal for gain. This means 800 cals should be from protein, which works out to be 200 g. For 200 lb man, this works out fine.

    CLA induced hyperinsulinemia

Here is another clue that seems to indicate CLA leads to leanness as well as anabolism. Other threads in this forum have indicated that prolonged CLA administration can/likely leads to (1) fat cells becoming resistant to storing more fat and (2) hyperinsulinemia (the state in which the body...

    What does GLA do?

I know that gamma linolenic acid (GLA) is omega-6 acid and that it is supposed to be good for you. But I have never really been able to pin down why or how it is good for you. What does it do, exactly? I would appreciate any enlightenment!
