    i like both for different reasons.... bb you can do more weight and it seems to help my tris a little more db you can get more of a stretch which is nice. i make use of both in my routines (i have two different routines i like to do 5-6 times a week, alternating)

    be sure to do compounds not only for upper body, but be sure to do leg compounds too... stiff legged deads and squats (or leg presses) help to put on more lbm than any other exercises. i once heard an estimate that you need to gain 10lbs of lbm for every inch added to your arms.

    the only reason i can think of why not to do it would be how long the body takes to change from putting on weight to losing it and vice versa. if the body takes say 2-3 days to change from losing weight to gaining then you are losing some time there, but that is the only reason i can think of...

    many dont actually decrease the volume. more sets are added like so: 15s - 1 set 10s - 2 sets 5s - 3 sets Therefore volume is similar. I go more by feel, but try to stay near the same volume from day to day.
