    squatting

Full squats are only important if you are going to compete in a strength even involving squats. 90 degree squats will accomplish what you're after size-wise. Going parallel to the floor is probably as low as anyone really needs to go.

Whats the proper way to do dips

It isn't necessary to go too deep. You really put the shoulder in a vulnerable position by going too deep. 90 degree angle at the elbow is fine especially when you're using extra weight.

    Morning Cardio Question

Well, probably not long. Although cardio does initiate fat release from fat cells, the whole lipolytic effect pretty much stops when cardio stops. So, you can go ahead and eat when you are done. I would recommend that you eat a very low fat meal though. No sense in putting it right back on. :)

    Fasting

Granted, sometimes we post stuff that isn't exactly true. But this board does encourage people to post their thoughts and opinions. If there is soemthing about kyleman1's post(s) that isn't true, please point it out, but use research or a text book to show where the error is. Try not to insult...

    Cycling cardio

I don't mean to come across contrary, but the body doesn't burn less fat as it adapts to cardio. Although it may seem easier to complete the cardio session, as long as the intensity is the same, the same amount of fuel will be required to perform the muscular work. In fact, as you adapt to...

    HST & Musclular Endurance

Well, you'll probably have the greatest success "at first" by making sure you do the 5s and negatives for pull-ups. This will have the greatest impact on your strength/muscle mass. Then once you've gotten very big and strong lats, drop your bodyweight by 20 pounds and you'll be...

    Cluster-HST

In most instances I don't do fewer than 15 total reps per "exercise". I usually do 15-30 reps per "muscle group".

Hi guys, Here's the HST version of the calculator. HS:MAXIMUM Size calculator

    Cluster-HST

We mustn't stray from the underlying principles of HST. If you adhere to the principles, it doesn't make a lot of difference, size wise, how you manipulate the groupings of your sets and reps. At least not until there is good research to indicate otherwise. This may seem elementary to many but...

    Carb Cycling

Aside from the obvious effect of lowering your total caloric intake as you lower carbs, it can effec the way your body uses the carbs you do eat. This can be helpful if you are not doing a lot of cardio. Lowering carbs lowers insulin and lowering insulin allows lipolysis to occur more easily...

    grinding flax seeds

The fats in flax seed oxidize very quickly. This is why flax seed oil must be refrigerated unlike olive oil for example. You should keep any ground flax refrigerated as well.

    Protein From breads

If you are using food labels, no, don't count the fiber as part of your overall carb intake. Nevertheless, even if you did count fiber grams, it probably wouldn't amount to more than 15-20 grams unless you are eating high fiber foods intentionally. The RDA for fiber is 30g per day. Most people...

    Truth about low intensity cardio?

Its good to think of it in terms of calories. Doing low intensity cardio for 25 minutes is just as effective as doing it for 35 minutes, the difference being the total number of calories burned. Even when doing cardio for short periods of time, the muscles burn energy at the same rate as...

    Squats widen the waist/hips ?

Squats will not change your bone structure. However, guys with wide waists tend to be more suited for squating so you will see a lot of "good" squaters with wide waists. Any change in your waist with squats will be a result of muscle developement and will not make you lose any...

    No of Sets

Because HST is based on the principle that load is the primary determinant of size, I like to keep as many other variables constant and focus on increasing the load over time. With this I prefer keeping the total number of reps as constant as I can while decreasing the number of reps per set. I...
