problem bench

am doing wide grip bench press .my problem is the method of benching to make the chest work instead of delts.am doing in the smith and thinking of letting my @$$ hanging off the bench that is chest higher than the hip as letting the @$$ hang off the bench.is this a good method of benching?
 
never heard of anyone letting ther @$$ hang of the bench..if you want your chest higher than hips do incline bench.
