i want to do bench press but i am to afraid to do it alone even with lighter weights it can get considerably hard to get that bar back up on the rack after the 9th or 10th time .. aside from asking someone to break their workout to spot you how would i go about doing flat bench press on say a power rack?

-schurt

You can use a machine that doesn't require a spotter. There are many good ones, both that use a stack, those that you add plates to, and evena Smith Machine would work.

If you use a squat rack, simply adjust the safety bars to the right level, or as close to it as you can, and pull an adjustable bench over and knock out your sets. Be sure and bring down the "hooks" that hold the bar when you are ready to rack it.
